getting reported to the board of nursing

Nurses Safety

Hello I would like to know if anyone has any insight on being reported to the nursing board for verbal abuse to a resident the patient wasn't hurt nor did she hear the staff member but another staff member reported to the DON and the person got fired and they are reporting it to the board of nursing could this mean that nurse would lose her licenses?

it would seem that if the patient did not hear it, it was not abuse. disrespectful, unprofessional, yes. consult your malpractice carrier.

I got accused of something like that - the problem was that a staff member wrote down "I" personally said something to the patient, when it was the patient who actually made the statement - it was her interpretation of it - NOT what I had said to her. I was told they wanted to fire me, but gave me a final warning instead, even though I was not guilty of anything they were accusing me of.

The real problem for me was that I KNEW that the managers who were writing me up were at least 85% sure, even if they didn't work with me that much, and all the had to rely on was common sense, knew I didn't do what they were accusing me of, and they wrote me up anyway based on other false accusations, and things they creating in their heads while gossiping.
