I have been a nurse for 5 years. After I became an LVN I quickly jumped into finishing my pre reqs & I thought I would be the first in my class to become an RN. Welll, that didn't happen. I kept putting school off & life got in the way. Before you know it the years go by & now I'm married with a child.
But now my husband's job is slowing down & they have cut a lot of hours. We decided that it would be best if I went back to school & became an RN, worked full time & he worked part time. I haven't been in school in years! I'm so nervous! I have to re-take micro, chem & A&P I. I really want to get As in them, of course. I'm so nervous! Things are so different now that I have a 1 year old.
But I am determined to get my RN license. I will become an RN!

I wish you the best of luck with this venture! Having been through it myself, the time passes by so quickly and you wonder why you initially didn't want to do it.
I know. I did all my pre reqs so fast then I just put off nursing school. I just figured "Eh, it'll always be there". Little did I know life had other plans for me. I kicked myself for not applying sooner. But I am thinking it was probably for the best since I was so young & immature.
Not that I wouldn't have done well in the RN program, I just wouldn't have done well as an RN. I have a bad job history as an LVN. But I only had 1 job I loved & stayed at for almost a year. The rest were all dead end jobs I hated, but I learned a lot from them.
I'm nervous to be in school again. I'm taking pharmacology over the summer then A&P 1 & chem in the fall & micro in the spring.
If anyone has any tips on how to balance a 1 year old & studying, let me know. Haha! My husband is in the oil field so he is gone for 2 weeks & home for 1 week. My mom & my MIL works so they can only help so much.

Kudos to you for all that you have accomplished! I have no doubt that you will get where you need to be, when you need to be there. Seeing other moms on here doing something for themselves (and their family too) is a great inspiration for me.
Thank you :).

I am in the process of going back all I have left is my A and P 1 and 2 and micro I saved those until the very end so they would not be close to expiration by the time I went to ADN school and was able to apply for BSN school. How do you balance work and school I work part time (36) hours a week and school will be part time.
