Hiy'all
I am a patient care tech and currently live in Mass. My father in law needs some medical help and he live in Fl . Can the goverment pay for me to work for him. He is a disable veteran . If so do I have to get hire by a home care facility and he will just call and request me? Or does we need to talk with someone at the VA?

I was just asking a similar question. Are you gonna move to fl to care for him or will he move to mass? Just curious. I would like some info on this topic too.
I am moving there.

My experience has been no. His insurance (government or otherwise) will NOT pay family to provide care, RN, CNA or otherwise. The home care agency that you do work for will also likely have a policy against you caring for any family member or for someone that you know. Every agency is different, however, I have worked for at least 5 different agencies in my CNA career and all have had a policy against this...it's considered a conflict of interest.
