I was accepted to a BSN program that is ONLY ACEN accredited. I need to know if anyone had issues getting into any Masters or Doctorate level PMHNP program with a BSN program that is NOT CCNE accredited?
I just sent in my deposit and have not yet registered for classes, I am very worried that I could be making a mistake if I am definitely pursing a masters degree later on.
I contacted the admissions from a PMHNP program to get their feedback and I am not hearing back from anyone I contacted.
I've seen some older threads about the this topic but I need to know updated information ASAP so I can make the right decision.
When I look down the list of PA (BSN) schools accredited by ACEN the list is so short compared to the CCNE accrediation list. Is this a red flag?

However, in the sphere of higher nursing education, ACEN accreditation is interchangeable with CCNE accreditation. One is just as adequate as the other. Good luck to you.
I totally concur. The primary reason many baccalaureate, master's and doctoral nursing programs are CCNE-accredited is because ACEN accreditation is significantly more expensive for schools to attain and maintain. However, in the sphere of higher nursing education, ACEN accreditation is interchangeable with CCNE accreditation. Well that makes sense. I really appreciate your response. Getting ready for finals and we are all in panic mode over here. As soon as I tell people I want to pursue a Masters after I get the BSN I receive all kinds of feedback and "advice". I have girls telling me to be sure my school is CCNE accredited because PENN and Drexel are CCNE accredited or else I could have problems later on, etc.
2 more weeks and I'm officially done with prereqs!! Thanks All!
