Getting An OR Internship

What does it take to get an internship in the OR after graduation? Isit mainly based in grades? Interview? Thanks

Featured Replies

I think it has to do with all of it...

Grades are a definite guideline for the OR, ER, ICU, etc, in most hospitals I have looked at, but different guidelines are made for different hospitals.

The interview is, as with any place, a place for the employers to see if they think you will be a good fit. There are all types of personalities in the OR, but the recruiters and managers are more aware of what is good for that hospital's needs.

It never hurts to apply. You'll never have a chance if you don't at least apply. Apply to several different hospitals also!

Good luck!
