get a license in CA when from another state

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello, I currently am living in another state and am interested in moving to CA. I am a recent new grad and want to know how and when I should obtain a CA liscens. I have applied ot several places online but most of them will automatically disqualify you when its asks if you hold a CA RN liscense....at the time I don't but, I meet all other requirements.

any info would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have any idea about how bad the job market is for new grads in Cali?

no i don't but I believe its pretty bad everywhere right now? do you know?

yeah it's pretty horrible....there are grads from the class of 2008, and 2009 that still do not have jobs....I would NOT move out to Cali unless you have a job offer in writing.....it's an over-saturated market right now

Um, I moved here from atlanta and found a job within 3 weeks, and got a CA endorsement several weeks later......if you really want something bad enough....

do you have an experience? Do you know how to get a liscense in CA when moving and if so, do you need to do it ahead of time when just applying to jobs?

No I was a new grad RN when I moved. I had no experience. i had my GA RN license when I was applying and indicated "pending CA endorsement"

Kudos to you, you're definitely not a part of the norm.

A lot of it will also depend on where in Cali you want to move to; it's a pretty big state.

what exactly is a ca endorsement??? Was thinking southern ca, either san diego or LA
