to get a job as a NP or not?

Published

Our house is currently on the market and we want to move back down south. I am trying to get a job in MD right now(where we live currently) but I received some advice from a close NP friend of mine to not get a job in MD b/c it is a waste of an employers time and money if I am planning to move anyways. My thought process is that Our house could take 2 yrs to sell-that is 2 yrs of experience I can get. I also find it hard when an employer asks me if I am going to be around the area for a while to lie about it but I do. Any thoughts on the dilemma-I dont know if I can stand the thought of having my NP degree and not being an NP I am afraid I will lose all that knowledge?

Since the housing market is slow, I would get a job where you live now. Who knows? You may love the job and decide to stay, your house could take 2 years to sell and/or something else happens in the ensuing two years. I would get a job now.
