Germany to US, needs peds

Hi! A co-worker of mine was an experienced nurse in Germany but now works as an aide here in the US. She'd like to take boards and work as an RN but can't due to the differences in training- she's a "general nurse" and never took a peds course, since Germany has specially trained kinder-nurses. (I believe that's the only requirement she needs to meet) None of the local nursing schools will accept her for just this one class. Surely she's not the first nurse from Germany to want to work in the US- does anyone know of programs that will update her education?

There are many German nurses who have met the requirments, so I am not sure exactly where she did her training and when she completed it.
