German Nurses

Published

Hi everyone!

I am a nurse from Germany and i would like to work as a nurse in the USA,NYC. I know my application is not excepted. I know all the stuff about getting a RN.(cgfns,toefl,nclex). But my question is if there is anyone here in this forum from Germany. Does anyone know how my chances are as a German nurse about getting a job in the usa and also a visa.?

With retrogression you will find currently you have a long wait for a immigrant visa. Doesn't matter where you was born currently everyone is affected in the EB3 category and that is where nurses generally come under. We have also had International students in NY post they have had problems finding a employer in NY even when they are under OPT so you may also find it hard to find a employer

Thanks for your message. I was thinking the same, getting a visa and an employer: very difficult. But what else can I do, its my dream... Living and working in New York City. CGFNS and NCLEX is the only way to become a RN, right?

More or less CGFNS and NCLEX some states do not require CGFNS but if you plan on NY then yes you have to meet CVS requirements with CGFNS and pass NCLEX. Plus at some stage you will need to get a visa screen certificate but I would hold off that until you have a employer and close to getting a immigrant/work visa
