Is anyone here certified as an Infection Preventionist? Y'all know the newish regs say every facility has to have one by 2019

I'm hoping my facility will pay for the course. NADONA has one but I'm sure there are others.

PS...anyone have an infection line listing that satisfies the regs? My DON is telling me the one we use won't fit the regs but I can't find anything anywhere...PPS I've been at this facility for 3 weeks...no one has done anything about antibiotic stewardship so far.

I took the NIPP infection preventionist course. It was some old info with a few new pieces sprinkled in :)

Not sure our line list satisfies the regs...fingers crossed!

I've read several times that CMS is putting together a free infection preventionist course that will meet the regs. I keep watching for it but so far nothing.

I heard the same thing... coming in the fall. At least they won't be able to tell us the course doesn't fit the refs.

CCM - I received the following in my email this morning. If you have any interest in the entire email, please PM your email address and I will forward it to you.

Get the resources and training that your community needs to run a robust antibiotic stewardship program by joining a free, 12-month national project. Beginning December 2018, the AHRQ Safety Program for Improving Antibiotic Use will provide participating long-term care facilities with antibiotic use guidelines, expert coaching, online education, improvement tools, resident education materials, and more to help you prevent harms associated with antibiotics, such as Clostridium difficile. Participants also have the opportunity to earn continuing education credits. This program is funded and guided by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and is led by Johns Hopkins Medicine and NORC at the University of Chicago. Please register for a one-hour webinar to learn how participation can benefit your residents and community.

Thanks for the info....they practically want to know what I had for breakfast 3 weeks ago, but it looks helpful.
