Hi! I'm applying to Georgia State University's ACE Track for Spring 2016. Anyone else out there also applying? :)
I'm actually currently in the ACE program. This particular forum is for people who applied for the October 1st deadline last year for this semester. If you want, you can start a forum for people applying for Spring 2017, although that is pretty far down the line this coming October. But anyways, the TEAS was very difficult for me and I didn't really know how to study for it at all. I honestly think it was my higher GPA that saved me to get into the program. I have details on how I felt about the TEAS in the earlier messages of this forum. For volunteering, I did about 120 hours at a pediatric clinic doing clerical work and helping the nurses take vital signs. Really anything will work -- I don't think it needs to be healthcare related, although that would help.
Correct! @hopefulrngsu I think my GPA and about 86 Volunteer hours saved me too. I reluctantly applied on the due date (Oct 1st) and was accepted with 82 on TEASV (only 1 attempt), 4.0 GPA (62 credit hours + all sciences), and an extra CNA certification (sans work experience).
I will suggest having a good TEAS score on the first attempt. I did not really study for mine, I only went to a tutor that brushed through the entire study guide material with me within three days and I decided to go see what the exam feels like since I can always take it again but I made 82 individual score and 91 percentile. It was only two days to the due date (Oct 1st) so I turned in my application without retaking the TEAS and was accepted.
Get a TEAS / NCLEX tutor if you don't have the time to study it really does help. I am willing to give out his # if anyone is interested.

Hi, can you help me with my essay topic?
I am doing my health essay on STD prevention. and I am still not sure if my essay fit into health essay topic.
GSU ESSAY topic- Discuss your position on a healthcare or social issue
I only included what nurse can do for STD prevention on one body paragraph and rest of paragraph is about what other healthcare workers can do.
Hey! I'm new to this site, I'm applying in Spring 2017!
@bank.kendall, I took Safer for A&P 1 and 2, I would recommend him. For A&P 2, I made the mistake of registering with Ross, it was awful and I transferred out and switched to Safer's class after the first day lol. Safer's tests are tricky, he uses a lot of all of the above/none of the above to try to make you second guess yourself. BUT everything he tests you on is in the powerpoints, just make sure you really know your stuff because if you don't, it will show in your test scores. You can't BS his tests, if you don't know it then you don't know it. The easiest thing to do is go back over your notes and the powerpoints once you get home after every class, it's a pain trying to refresh yourself on everything all at the last minute before the test.
