Who got into NGCSU for Fall 2007?

U.S.A. Georgia

I received my acceptance letter to the NGCSU nursing program for Fall 2007 on March the 13th. I was surprised to get it so early considering that NGCSU said that they would not be mailing out our letters until the first week of April.

Did anyone else get their acceptance letter yet? I am curious to see who I will be spending the next two years with. :)

livextoxlove77,

Any ideas when we are supposed to receive our nursing packets?

I shadowed a nurse and a PT at Fort Mcpherson. You can pretty much call any hospital and I am sure they would allow you to shadow a nurse. You will probably have to get HIPAA training prior to shadowing - I had to.

I contacted NGCSU and they said that they cannot disclose any information on when they are going to send out our nursing packets. Let me know if you get yours anytime soon. :)

ok I will. What is HIPPA training?

HIPAA deals with medical privacy & patient civil rights.

FYI: I found out today that they are sending out our nursing packets at the beginning of next week.

okay sweet! thanks for the info!!

I was accepted as well for Fall 2007 - it is so difficult to find information about the program. I've heard some really awful stories about nursing school and I'd like to know where NGCSU falls in this spectrum. This is my second degree and I have a 3.6 GPA - I am trying to find out more about the program - Does anyone plan on working while in school - does anyone know how heavy the courseload is? Also, I would like to know about the reputation of the instructors - are they supportive and helpful - do a lot of students fail out? What is the reputation of the program in the hospitals - do hospitals like to hire from NGCSU?

Thanks!!

Wow! Congratulations to you both for getting in to NGSCU. I just applied now for next fall and I had some questions for you:

Did you have to take any courses prior to getting in? I already have a BA in Communications and I'm not sure if I need to take any science or math before the program (if I get in). If you did, what did you take? Did you take the courses there?

I'm confused because it's an associate degree so you should be able to start right after HS and I'm certainly beyond that (class of '87 :p).

Any helpful insight you can give me would be great! Best of luck to you! That's awesome!

I have also been accepted to NGCSU on the Gainesville Campus. I am not sure I am going to accept the spot. I am waiting to see if I am accepted at Athens Tech. They will make their decision this week. I live in Loganville and am worried about the long drive to the Gainesville campus and to the clinical sites if I go to NGCSU. Athens is a bit closer to me, with less traffic.

did you ever get accepted to athens tech i was thinking about going there and just wanted your advice or any information you have to share about the school?

nope! Dahlonega, you?

How do you change campuses? I chose Dahlonega, but Gainsville is a little closer, along with Lanier Tech.
