Is anybody at GSU a pre-nursing major?

Trying to get a group together so we can help and support each other throughout this horribly stressful process!

I'm a junior at GSU, I am applying for the ACE Program starting in Spring 2013. I'm a double-major in Psychology.

Looking to maybe form a study group for the TEAS? I've also finished all of the prerequisites and would be happy to help those in need :)

Can someone tell me how the Program GPA is calculated? Is it all of your core classes or just the classes listed under "Program Prerequisites"? Also, can someone in the ACE program give me a general idea of what your schedule is like? Is it a realistic program for people with children? Thanks! And good luck to everyone waiting on letters!

If you are already a student at GSU you can log into PAWS and under student records you can select student evaluation and it will tell you how you look to GSU (i.e., overall, math/science) and tell you whether you have satisfied all the pre-reqs!

@milesamelia I believe the program GPA are pre-req classes. As previously stated, if you are a GSU student you can pull up your academic evaluation and it will show you your overall GPA and program GPA. Here is an example of the schedule : http://chhs.gsu.edu/nursing/fallacceleratedplan.htm . A couple of my classmates had children and were able to manage just fine (with their own support systems).

Hi there! Im currently considering whether to do the traditional or the ACE program. I hear from everyone that the ACE one is practically self- suicide and that i will have no life except to study, whereas with the traditional one it will still be hard but I will still have somewhat of a life. How accurate is this? And is the ACE really that HARD?

Thanks!

I personally think it all depends on how you balance your life, time management is essential. I was an ACE student and I still went to my favorite concerts, hung out with my friends, kept my on-campus job and graduated on time. I would say that the beginning can be a little rough and the end is SUPER tedious but it is manageable. If you choose the traditional route and things go to slow for you, you can apply for the option to combine the last two semesters.

Hey Everyone -

Where on the GSU website does it say that they are now looking at volunteer hours? Also, when you say you submitted volunteer forms, is this for a "one event" volunteer service or have you been volunteering regularly, say like once a 5week or so?

I have a few things that I have volunteered for, but they were each just "one day" type events. I have to work full-time and I have been going to school at the same time, so it is really hard for me to get picked for a consistent volunteer position.

Thanks!!

Hey, I know this is an older post but I am nervous about applying and everyone is mentioning volunteer hours and I am in the same boat that you were in but I noticed you were accepted. Exactly how much weight does volunteer work hold?

I found this post and wanted ro know what is it like transferring and applying to GSU's ACE program? I currently go to KSU and I am transferring to GSU but I need a little more clarity on the ACE Track as a transfer.
