Hey y'all! Is anyone applying to/accepted to/attending GA Highlands for Fall '08? I'm about to submit my app to the school and then as soon as my acceptance letter is in, send all my stuff to the nursing program for consideration. Fingers crossed! Also, is there anyone out there that is currently in the program? If so, how has your experience been and what kind of classes did you have completed and what GPA did you have that granted you admission to the program? Thanks so much!

I have been accepted to GHC starting their accelerated RN program in Jan 08. You must complete the required pre-req's before you will be accepted, I believe there are 12. When they look at you application they only look at your GPA for the required coursed and its very competitive.

Thanks so much for the info! I wonder if the generic program is different than the accelerated program for prereqs though...from what I understand there's not a set amount that need to be completed, they just advise you to have as many of the gen ed classes done as possible.

They are the same. They will accept an applicant that doesn't have all their course work completed but if they have another applicant that has the same GPA with more course work completed they will take them first. Everyone that I know that has entered the program has all their pre-req's completed. You have to look at this way too, they had over 300 apply for little over 100 spots. The more course work you have completed the better off you will be.:balloons:

The computer course is offered online and its pretty easy I would take it before you are accepted. There is also a CLEP for it if you are very familiar with Office.

One more question and I promise I'll quit bothering you :wink2:...did you have to submit your SAT scores to the college AND the nursing program or just to the college? The program brochure isn't terribly clear. Thanks so much!

Hi Katie! I am also going to be applying for the program for Fall 08. I am there now finishing the pre-req. Hopefully it will not take forever to get accepted.

Just to the college but make sure the Nursing department gets a copy of all your transcripts from your previous colleges(s). Offical transcripts or it will delay your application or worse your application could not be processed.

Ok awesome, that's what I'll do. I think I'm going to follow their suggestion and pick up my sealed transcripts from KSU, then forward them onto the Nursing Program with my application and worksheet.
