Published

My friends all 4 are lpn's and the pay here in Georgia range from 22.00 to 27.00 per hour hope this helps my best friend is a RN in the surgery dept and makes 74.00 an hour wish I could still have more school to go but I will make it

Those figures are not all that concrete.;) Many factors are involved: location, experience, specialty, shift, facility, and position hired for...just to name a few. The last three years of LPN employment for me was at a rate of $28/hr with a $3-$5/hr shift differential. That was in a metro Atlanta area hospital. Meanwhile in South Georgia back in 2013, one hospital there offered me $22/hr as an RN, which I did not hesitate in rejecting. I'd hate to think what they were paying the LPNs they had.

Anyway, search around. There is money to be had. Whether or not you benefit from it will depend on how flexible you are in terms of relocation, the need for insurance and other employer benefits, and/or the willingness to work evenings/nights/holidays.

Well I dont know how much your LPN friends have but as a new nurse that applied to many jobs in ATL and surrounding cities the average starting range for an LPN was about $18- $22/hr. There were some places that were lower than $18, but most offered $20. As the previous poster stated though, there are many factors that can affect ones pay but as a new nurse that has new grad friends my numbers are pretty accurate for the 2015-2016 timeframe.

Now for those with years of experience I have no answers!!

^^*how much experience your LPN friends have!

I am more interested in where her RN friend in surgery works and how long she has been a nurse. That's the highest pay i have ever heard and that's from Cali/New York>>>
