Is anyone applying for Fall 2010 admission to this program?
Thanks you guys.. yeah, I got a B. a low B but still a B. okay..is it bad that I am a little bummed out? I mean, our test was only 50 questions so its like you could only miss 12 and still get a 74. but I am just mad b/c everyone I missed I can remember thinking it was wrong afterwords. I got home and looked up some and was like UGH!!! STUPID!! haha..but I am still really really happy I am still in the game. Its so stressful. When do you guys start clinical? we start next month and we are learning injections tomorrow. Yay..I can't wait to get stuck by people who don't know what they are doing! haha..but how many tests do yall have? we only have 4. Including the Math..so really only 3. Thanks for all the advice though! I guess I studied right! :)
Hey I'm actually going to apply to the Marietta campus next semester for Fall 2011, I'm a student at KSU and as you all know it's pretty impossible to get in. You honestly need like a 3.9 minimum so I was wondering is GH is any easier to get into and what kind of GPA they normally except? Any advise I would REALLY appreciate! Thank you!!

Oh please. I got into the KSU nursing program with a 3.2. GPA isn't the only thing they look at. I did pretty great on my TEAS as well as the interview and I think those are what made me qualify in their eyes, so don't sell yourself short by saying you can't make it into KSU with a lower GPA. :)
Really? What year did you get in because now they really are turning into divas they told me that I need to retake all the classes I got a B in and get and A and they told my friend with a 3.8 and 80 TEAS that she would get in in about 2 years. I would totally LOVE to go to ksu for nursing and stay there but the more digging I do the more it seems my chances are next to impossible and GH is my back up and I just really want to get into a nursing program and like to know my odds.

I got in Fall 2009, into the accelerated program. I mean, shoot, if you can quote me from back in time, my friends heard me say nothing but "I'd love to go to KSU, but with my grades it's pretty much impossible", and I kept on hedging my bets all the way up to the moment I got the letter in the mail (yes, it was a physical letter) saying I got in. They really do look at the big picture, for which grades are just one component. Also, even if you don't get in there, GHC has a pretty cool program too (I have no less than 4 friends who went there, one of whom is my mentor), especially if you get into the Marietta one, but the Rome one is pretty nifty too. Plus, traffic is not nearly as much a headache there as it is here in Kennesaw
Do or do not...just wanted to add that (not to sound horrible and biased) but KSU does kinda make exceptions for male students. I am not trying to discourage anyone trying to go there. I just know from personal experience that KSU is ridiculous and can really bring you down. I have a 3.3 now, but got an interview at KSU and thought I did well, but still got declined. That was last Oct. But I go to North GA now and I am soooooo happy!! I love love love the school and the great teachers! My teacher is so awesome! But anyways, GL to going to KSU..you were right on by calling it a "diva" school! It totally has gotten to that point. I mean, I went there for all my prereqs and knew one of the advisors personally. I mean, she knew my voice on the phone. I went there from 2002-2009 (had a 3 yr break) but anyways, just wanted to say that any nursing school is great. and GHC is a good school too. I applied but didn't get in and I would have started this semester. everything works out! SO don't give up and keep on going!! GL!
Thanks for the tips guys! And the accelerated program is actually much easier to get into, the basic track that most people apply to is the hard one lol and nrice do you mind telling me the GPA you applied to GH with? I'm trying to see the best place for me to get into to and my shots at getting in said places lol

There are a couple female students who got in with lower GPAs then mine. I'm not completely naive and I know that being a dude got me a few brownie points, but the admins at KSU keep a tight lip on how exactly they do their methodology. But hey, good luck at North GA! ^.^
Thanks..wasn't trying to sound like a jerk! lol..just being honest. but yeah Lizzie309 when I applied to Highlands I had a 3.2. I think..now I have a 3.3. but then I had a C in a&p 2 and retook it and got a B. But good luck applying. Its hard to get in anywhere. Just don't give up and open up your options as much as possible. there are a lot of nursing schools in GA.

I recommend using the study questions from the potter and perry website or CD rom. Some of the test questions come directly from there. My only problem with the NCLEX questions is alot of them are still WAAAAY over our head, and continuously getting them wrong can be discouraging.
