Georgia BON

Anyone else having problems with GA BON? I had to call, write, and fight just to get my ATT and now that I have passed NCLEX they are taking forever to post my license, I mean this is the worst experience ever!

I, too, am waiting to be posted. A friend was posted in a couple of weeks, so I'm hoping I'll have mine soon. How long has it been since you took NCLEX?

Yes, apparently the GBON is saying it will take them 4 to 6 weeks to post licenses on their website. Absolutely ridiculous. A classmate of mine who moved to Virginia stated she found out she had passed the NCLEX because VA BON had her license posted before she got her results from Pearson Vue. And she signed up for the quick results, so we are talking about VA posting licenses within 24 hrs of being notified by Pearson Vue of passing. It really is just awful that we are all having to wait to start working on the GBON. Many new grads from my school sent formal complaint letters to the Governor's office as well at to the Secretary of State, and basically we all got the same standard form letter in response. Just an example of gov't workers I guess, no motivation to get things done quickly.

I was posted today! I took my NCLEX right at 3 weeks ago. Any luck on yours yet, OP?

Well, I just got my ATT yesterday! Can you believe that? And now, my nurse recruiter told me today that the GA BON is saying it could be 2-6 WEEKS until they will be able to see my results. I will be working as an extern, then, until that time.......unbelievable.....:angryfire

Welcome to the Georgia Board of Nursing. I can't wait to move out of this state.

I am so glad I'm not alone on this. I passed NCLEX Dec 5th, applied for reciprocity for my Texas lic. on Jan 15th, STILL have not been granted a Ga. lic. going on 6 weeks now. I'm tired of working as a medic. Everything in this state is slow.

I feel you, I am so frustrated that I don't know what to do! When I look at my application online everything is completed, that is except for the space that says 'application complete'. I took NCLEX seven weeks ago! At that point it had been seven weeks since graduation. They told me that there is nothing they can do to hurry things along as they are swamped with it being a renewal year and blah blah. They also tell me they can't give me any information as to why they will not complete me. I have filed complaints to the supervisors supervisor right up the line. I feel so helpless. I hope all states are not as bad as Georgia.

Well they said they mailed me a letter concerning "deficiencies" last week and to follow the letters intructions to "properly" complete the app. I have been 100% honest and concise. I have no clue what they want. This is such a joke. No wonder there is such a shortage. SOOO frustrating.:banghead:
