Hello Everyone,
I am gearing up to apply for Fall 2009 at Georgia Baptist. I wanted to know if anyone else is applying there for Fall 2009 as well, or if there is anyone who has already been accepted and wouldn't mind sharing their credentials (i.e. overall gpa, nursing gpa, science gpa, if all prerequisities were completed, net score etc.) I am just trying to get a feel for the type of applicant they are looking for. Thanks so muc!
Well, since I'm down here in FL, it may be different for you...BUT...I took my BLS Healthcare Providers CPR class at my local hospital for around $40. It was the cheapest class I found anywhere - the other locations wanted over $70, so I lucked out. The hospital down here is St. Joseph's, so maybe one of the local hospitals up there have the classes. I was going to take it at the American Heart Association down here, but it was a little pricey, so I just started calling hospitals ini the area and found the one at St. Joe's. Good luck - hopefully you can find a cheap one up there, because any little bit of savings helps!!
Ok great. what part of Florida you from ADAVIS? I'm from Miami. Mfisher, give me the low down on who that was so I can call. does that $55 include the book? Listen Im trying to make a dolla outta 15 cents to afford this school. I have no money left for nothing!!!! Its funny how when your completeing pre-req's they tell you how all this money is avaible, then when you need it, IT AINT NONE! like ***! LIARS! LOL
Here is the email she sent me
Hi Matt,
All that you heard is true..especially the part about the being a great instructor..ha-ha. I am very flexible, so please check your calender and let me know what works and I'll go ahead and get you scheduled. (As well as any of your friends that need the class. I teach full time.. so really let me know.. I also teach in the evenings as well as mornings. I start classes as early as 7am and as late as 7pm. and you get your AHA card at the end of class. The class is $55.00 and is excepted in schools and at all hospitals, unlike most others.. such as American Red Cross, plus the class usually takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Let me know if you have any other questions,
I look forward to hearing from you,
PS. I was born in Ft. Lauderdale. I have been in Atlanta for 12 years though
Hooray for Floridians! To answer your question, MercerChick...I was born in Hialeah, FL and have lived in Orlando, St. Petersburg and now Tampa. I was pretty much raised in St. Pete, though. Everyone down here think I'm crazy to want to leave, but I'm ready for a change in scenery! I'll see you and mfisher6 at the orientation! :wink2:
