Hi everyone! Haven't seen a thread yet, I know applications don't officially open until mid July but wanted to get it started 🙂 Good luck!

Hi. I wanted to ask some of you who got invites what your stats are? They reached out and told me that they need a GRE score since my cumulative GPA is 3.43 (I haven't taken it). My science GPA is 3.88, I have 3 years of experience in a level 1 trauma facility working in the CVSICU. I take ECMO, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, CRRT. I precept and I'm trained as charge in a 22 bed ICU. I am chair of the ICU governance council, co-chair of CLABSI committee, chair of the social committee, co-chair for unit education committee. I volunteer with Big Brother Big Sister (6 years), a local food pantry/free clinic, and a veterans PTSD support group. I've attended 2 annual congress, and 3 smaller conferences. I've shadowed over 40 hours.
I know that they are still sending out invites, but competition is stiff LOL. Trying to see where I need to improve to be more competitive.

I read through your work experience and community service, and they're very impressive! You really sound like the kind of candidate CRNA programs are looking for.
From what I've seen on the Georgetown website, applicants with a GPA below 3.5 may need to submit the GRE. My understanding is that GPA calculations can vary slightly between schools, so it's always best to confirm directly with the program.
My own background isn't as extensive as yours, but I've been highlighting my research and leadership experiences in my application.
Best of luck to all of us in this process!

On their website it says:
"A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required. GRE is required within the last five years if your undergrad cumulative GPA is lower than 3.5. A minimum science GPA of 3.0.”

Tbh your experience is top tier. I think the only thing that stopped you from getting an invite is the GRE. I saw on the website it says that the GRE is required within the last five years if your undergrad cumulative GPA is lower than 3.5.
Many schools have strict requirements that no matter how good your resume is they will auto deny. Each school is different in what they care about.
Other than that I think the only thing you can do to make your resume better is take graduate level courses. You have the experience to show you're ready clinically and have leadership qualities but some schools might be iffy on your GPA. Also I didn't see if you had CCRN, that I would 100% get. If you wanna be fancy get CSC.
I've applied to 4 schools, accepted to 2 denied to 1.
That's the advice that all the schools give during/after interviews.
If you want more detailed stuff I could help after the interview process is done, I don't want to break any rules.

Hi! Thank you! I have my CCRN and working on CSC and CMC. I have taken grad level patho, pharm, and health assessment. I've retaken all science courses that I had that weren't A's, plus I've taken Organic, Inorganic, and Biochemistry. As far as leadership, I have used my 8 years in the military, my charge nurse experience, time as a preceptor, and my role as committee chair and co-chair.
You are right, it's the cumulative GPA. I think I just need to bite the bullet and take the GRE. I would appreciate any guidance you could provide as well. Thank you again.
