Georgetown CNM/WHNP MSN May 2022

Specialties CNM

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone else has been admitted to Georgetown's CNM/WHNP MSN program for the May 2022 start date? I would love to connect with any future classmates!

Thank you!

Hi! Thanks so much for reaching out! Yes, feel free to reach out so we can keep each other updated because I haven’t met anyone else applying for next year. I’m still debating on whether to do May 2023 or September 2023 just to give myself a longer break after graduation LOL

Ha - same! I would really like to get started, so I am thinking May is right for me, but I would also love to take a break post-NCLEX and ABSN program...

I am in NYC and will be applying to the program to likely do the first few semesters remotely, and then relocate to DC in time for clinicals to start. How about you (if you're open to sharing)?

Yes! That’s how I feel after going straight into my BSN program right after graduating with my 1st undergrad degree LOL. When do you plan on starting or submitting your application? I was planning to start next month & maybe submitting in January or February after I take NCLEX. That’s also what the admission counselor suggested as well

I currently live in TN but relocating to TX in Feb to start an L&D residency program there. I don’t plan moving to DC at all bc I am not a big city girl!

Specializes in Bs, ms, teacher and currently obtaining BSN/RN.

Hi! Looking into possibly sept 2023 cycle…

Awesome - thank you! I figured it would be tough, if I'm lucky enough to get in I think I'd try to start full time and go down to part-time, still trying to get some savings built up after my BSN LOL. Good luck with your exams!

Thank you so much! Have you applied to the program yet? Good luck if you are in the process.

Hi there, just found this thread and decided I'd Chime in. Just applied for September 2023 start but thinking about maybe seeing if I can Submit for May . I'm a little nervous after reading my advisor made it seem like it would be kind of easy to get in . I have not applied anywhere else . Did anyone else apply to another program as well?

Hi! I'm Alexus, currently in semester 3 of the program. I applied to Georgetown and FAMU. I would've gone to FAMU, because it was really important to me to attend an HBCYU, but they lost my application and expected me to pay to send my transcripts and submit my application again. They admitted fault to losing mine and several other student's applications. I was unofficially accepted but they couldn't officially accept me without those documents. Georgetown showed me they were more responsible so that's how I ended up here.

Oh my! Yes I would love to go to a HBCU again as well but I love Idea of Georgetowns program being dual degree with both specialties , I wish there was a CNM program at a HBCU ! Also Georgetown is so  expensive, I've been applying to scholarships but it's definitely going to be tough. Hi Alexus I'm ciearra !!

Yes, outrageously expensive in my opinion... Try for the Nurse Corps Scholarship, its a full ride, monthly stipend, and a service commitment of at least 2 years after graduation (it can be hard for new grads to find jobs so look at it as a guaranteed job)

I'm actually waiting for that scholarship to open up for this school year ! That's one of the reasons why I opted for September start date ! I didn't Know if this program was eligible because technically Georgetown classifies it as "part time" and Nurse corps  is only for full time programs . =(  would you happen to know of anyone who was awarded the scholarship with this program ?

Normally, yes the program is only offered part time but once you get that scholarship they will create a full time plan of study for you. The workload is tough, I would suggest working part time when (speaking it into existence) you get the scholarship.
