Georgetown CNL Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello All,

Anyone applied to Georgetown Fall 2018

Time management should be a serious priority out of the gate. That being said you have time for a personal life somewhat and need to be sure you take time to yourself every week. I head to museums regularly to decompress and go home to see my family in NJ every few weeks. There are study sessions, we study together in small groups, there is tutoring, and professors do put together detailed presentations. You'll find the right way to study. It all depends on your style of learning.

What is your class/clinical schedule like?

Hi all! I received my acceptance on March 10 but have not decided if I will be going or not. I am from the Bay Area and the move to DC is so far. I got into an ABSN at Samuel Merritt and waiting to hear back from University of SF CNL before I make my decision. @Dkinsey is there a lot of students from CA or out of state?

There are a handful from the DC area (MD, VA and DC) in the program. We have 4 from the west coast and 1 or 2 from the Midwest. The rest are from various areas on the east coast.

Classes are typically together. Clinical schedules vary depending upon where you have the clinical rotation. Our clinical groups are typically no larger than 7 of us. The instructors are superb. The hours end up being in the neighborhood of 1200 I think by the end of our program. The final semester is approximately 350 clinical hour immersion. First semester we all had off Friday. That was nice. Many of us have off Friday again this semester.

Has anyone received their personal prerequisite evaluation and details regarding the summer primer online course will be provided by the Office of Student Academic Affairs?

No but I would really like to receive mine soon. I know that I will have to take A&P I again seeing as I took it in 2012. Some schools I applied to accepted it within that time frame, others had it within 5 years of the application cycle, and some would make me retake it and I'm assuming GU is the same. If I have to, I want to get signed up for the May-mester before it fills up so I can get it done.

Is there a Facebook group yet? I don't think there is, but would anyone be interested in setting one up? I'm not very Facebook literate otherwise I would.

Yes, same I am one year shy for the Human Psych Class Over A Lifespan. I took it in 2007 which last year it would have expired. I wonder if they would let it slip since it was in the same school year.

I am wondering if they are expecting us to pay the deposit before the primer courses are released and loan packages

I think they are. The deposit is due April 15th right? I haven't deposited yet. I will after the Admitted Student on April 6th. Even though my mind is made up I want to just check all the boxes as I will be moving from Texas. I've filled out my FAFSA but I have also been looking into other lenders.

I will make my deposit this Friday. Get it out of the way. I also filled out FASFA along with the Direct Plus Loan. I will soon be looking into scholarships to help offset the cost at least.

Has anyone pinpointed where they will be living? Cant wait to meet those who will be attending acceptance day

I've pinpointed the Arlington, VA area. More pet friendly, easy access to the airport for my husband, still close to school with everything I need (gym, grocery store, Target, Petsmart) all very close. I'm not sure your budget but I've pretty much picked out my apartment and the management company is Equity Apartments. They have properties all over DC and surrounding areas.

Also, I had a mini meltdown.. who am I kidding a full blown meltdown when my prerequisite evaluation came through about an hour ago. Triple check it because mine only showed one course to have been completed when all but one (due to the five year limit) were complete. I called and they went over my transcripts with me over the phone and are making the corrections and re-sending to me.
