Which book should I study for the NET & TEAS?

Hi all,

I have applied to two nursing programs. One requires a NET exam and one requires a TEAS exam before entering. I jumped ahead without much knowledge about this issue and ordered a book called "Kaplans Nursing School Entrance Exams". Turns out, both schools recommend their own SEPARATE book to study by for each exam. Should I order the specific book that each school recommends to study by? or will the one I have be okay to use? I need help making this decision.

Also, are we allowed to use calculators on these tests?

Thanks!

I took the NET and wasn't allowed to use a calculator. I'm not sure about the other one. And if youre proficient in basic math and reading then you should be fine. I didn't study a bit and scored just fine. I asked about studying, and my advisor said it wasn't necessary.

Since you already have a book then that's proabably what you should study from. Here is a link to a recent thread where I posted the information that I have on the TEAS as well as how to get a copy of the study guide published by ATI who is the company the writes the TEAS exam.

I took the TEAS exam and bought their book to study. The company is called ATI and you can get it at their site or in a lot of cases, the school book store will have it as well. I found it very useful and a couple of the practice questions that were in the book were on the actual exam itself. We weren't allowed to use calculators but I don't know if every school follows that. Either way, good luck and I hope you do well!
