Waitlisted...How should I take this?

I just found out today that I have been wait listed for the Spring(2008) at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. I feel discouraged because I am not sure if there will be a spot for me.The letter said we could be notified as late as January 08'.

Has anyone here ever been wait listed and actually got in? Is there a number of people who declince acceptance? Let me know.... :o

i really hope you aren't trying to set up a meeting to convince them you should be accepted. not everyone gets in right away, some people get in off a waitlist. you can't have everything the way you want it. you pretty much need to suck it up and cross your fingers.

shock-me-sane

i read your post the day you wrote it. i have to admit, i was a bit taken back by it. not only was it rude, but it was bad advice.

the director of admissions as well as the director of the nursing program just informed me i have been accepted to the program. a direct quote from them was '' it was your persistents that made you stick out from the rest of the wait-listed students"

next time you want to give your input - think about what you're saying.

on a happier note. i have been accepted to the nursing program. for those of you who cared enough to give me words of encouragement. i thank you!!

Way to go! Hope you love it! One of my friends from class is #1 on the wait list for the Spring '08 RN program. I'm hoping she gets a call soon.

Congratulations! I'm finishing up my first semester now, good luck to you!

you know, i base my advice on what i have experienced in my nursing program. i am sorry you found it offensive.

i do think before i speak, and honestly i would stand by the same advice next time.

but congrats, i am glad things worked out for you. i hope you enjoy nursing school.
