This may be a stupid question but I'll ask anyway....

  1. Can someone tell me what working PRN is? I've yet to begin nursing school so I'm not familiar with the lingo!

    PRN is the same as the prn med abbreviation. It means "as needed."

    It also means that you work if the hospital needs you that day, or you are cancelled. The money is more because no benefits are paid, but depending on where you are working and the type of unit, you may or may not be cancelled. You also need experience before being aboe to do this.
