Hello All

I just want to start by first saying that is site is the absolute best! I will be starting the LVN program at St. Francis College in San Jose on Monday. I an very nervous about what to expect(I just found out I got accepted today). I am wondering what to expect and how to prepare for this challenging training. I look forward to becoming a Nurse but my Anxiety is starting to Kick in and I am feeling all types of6 feelings right now...

Please, any advice REALLY helps!

Thank you so much.

P.S. Is there anything in advance that I should buy( special study cards, etc.)

Specializes in ICU.

Not in NS yet, so I can't give any real advice, but CONGRATS on your acceptance! I think it is pretty normal to feel a little anxious after finding out you have been accepted, so don't let that get to you. Maybe see if you can contact any of your future nursing instructors to see what things they recommend to buy for their particular class.

Specializes in LTC.

I'm currently in school for my LPN and so far its going ok. There is alot of time you need to put into studying and etc. I'm sure you'll do fine.

After three long agonizing semesters of an LPN program I am finally graduating May 20. Read your text books for hours and hours until you can't read any more. I made my own flash cards and that seemed to work fine. Also never give up. I wanted to a couple of times, but made it through. Good luck!!

woo, it is great you are going to start a new life now. I am curious about the St, Francis IVN program. How do you prepare to get accept into it? How much and how long will take? How is the school's reputation? I think you will do fine if you just study hard. thanks.

Where are you located?

St. Francis is a Catholic Private School in San Jose, Ca. They have a 100% pass rate and in 2011 they will have a LVN-RN program. It is a great small private school and they accept financial aid. Since they own hospitals in the area we do all of our Clinicals in three different locations. Admission into the school would be an Interview, Cpat and TEAS testing along a few other things. The staff is VERY helpful. I would recommend this school to anyone.

Good Luck to you
