Hey I will be clepping Sociology and Philosophy this summer but wanted to know what books were good. If you could reply a post to see if you did well could you tell me the books you looked at so I can check them out. Also is the test hard (I find computer tests not that hard but don't know if its on a computer or not). Thanks :)
I've never heard of a clep for philosophy, are you sure it exists? I clepped Analyzing and Interpreting Literature for 6 credits. The College Board books are good for giving the type of questions you'll see on the actual tests. There's a lady on ebay that sells clep test prep books for psych, lifespan development, literature, biology and maybe one or two other tests. Make sure your college will take the cleps you are planning. There are quite a few cleps available but not all schools take all cleps. Be sure you know what they'll take.
Also, not all mock tests are good indicators of the actual tests.
i passed! with 21 points to spare, too. the practice tests seemed more difficult than the actual exam and i scored higher on the actual test than I did in any of the practice exams.
I started studying sunday night and took the CLEP tuesday night. I dont recommend that other people do this because it's just plain stupid and stressful, but it can be done.

i'm clepping intro to sociology tomorrow with *very* minimal studying.
for people who've clepped socio: did you find practice tests to be more difficult or less difficult than the actual exam? i can pass the practice tests but am afraid that all that info in the "best prep to intro sociology" book is outdated by now.
thanks :)
