Psych care plans?

Newbie here! 4th semester ADN, love care plans...up til now! Wondering if anyone has a tip re: psych care plan websites??? I'm having the darndest time figuring this stuff out and would like to see samples. Any help offered would be GREATLY appreciated!

Yikes! That sounds scary. We have psyche during our 3rd semester (of 4) and we don't have to do care plans for it. Of course the psyche class and clinicals are in addition to our regular nursing 3 class with its corresponding 2 days of clinicals. The instructor told us today (first day of class) that they have cut down on their requirements from us because they were expecting too much work for a 1 credit course in the past. ;) Works for me!

you are very unlikely to find any many care plans on the internet. i do have a link to one psych activity care plan for an overdose patient.

http://www.med.umich.edu/nursing/snl/cs7.pdf - this is a psychiatric care planning case study activity from the university of michigan school health system. it is a 9-page guide that takes you through a case scenario of a 19 year old college freshman who has overdosed on acetaminaphen. he has expressed thoughts of suicide. it shows you, in steps, how to develop a nursing care plan using nanda languages. this is a learning activity for the nurses working for this facility. in the scenario they are directed to choose nursing diagnoses, noc outcomes and nic interventions.

you should go through posts on these two care plan threads on the nursing students forums. one of them, i believe it's the "desparately need help with careplans" thread, has links to internet sites that have samples of care plans and case studies:

when you are ready to write a care plan you can always post a question. i check the forums daily for care plan questions.
