PSB - preadmission test

Good afternoon everyone! I have a quick question...I've heard of the NLN preadmission test but I have to take the PSB preadmission test for our program. Has anyone here taken that test? I'm just a little curious...I know it's different from the NLN version but I'm just wondering what to expect. Any thoughts? TIA!

Never mind...I found a website with the needed info. In case others are interested...here's a link to it PSB Test. Has anyone here taken this test...and if so...is it as easy as it sounds? It sounds like it will be easier than the NLN preadmission test. I guess I'll find out April 3rd.

I've never heard of it. What do the initials stand for?

PSB stands for Psychological Services Board. Apparently they test you on academic aptitude, spelling, reading comprehension, information in the natural sciences, and vocational adjustment. I guess they use the scores on it (along with g.p.a.)as a determining factor for admission.

Specializes in Neuroscience ICU, CNRN, SCRN.

I took the test @ my CC last March...I had just started back to school after many, many years...I figured I'd just take it once to see how hard (or easy) it was, and if I didn't do well, I could take it again after 90 days, to turn in with my nursing school application. It was the old style "fill in the bubbles" paper & pencil test (although I hear it has been computerized in the last few months).

Well, it wasn't too bad, and I did well...my math skills weren't where I would have liked them to be, but I was quite pleased with the rest of my scores...so much so, that I didn't take it again...those were the results I sent in with my application.

Now, I am a "good" test taker...I don't get real anxious when it comes to test taking, plus, I had the 2nd chance if I wasn't please with my scores, but as I said, I was happy with final results. I'm sure you'll do fine on this test...Good luck!
