Popularity in NS?

This might sound like a silly question, but I am in a five semester program, currently in my second semester, and I sometimes I get a weird vibe from some of my classmates. I have asked around and some of my friends in the program feel the same way about my classmates. Is popularity in nursing school really that important? I'm a friendly person and I can talk to anyone but I feel lonely and down about myself.

It's important to get along with people, but not to be "popular". I always preferred to study alone and maintain a comfortable distance from my peers. When people get too cozy, conflict inevitably arises.

You mentioned you asked around to some of your friends in the program. So stick to them. You popularity doesn't really matter to be honest, as long as you are cordial and polite to everybody. You guys will all eventually go your own ways/paths.
