Nursing Student and Working Fulltime

I don't have any kids and a couple of friends I know said they were able to do it. I just want to see what everyone else feels about it? WHat are some other options? Have any of you became a CNA after first term? Ive been working so hard to get here and I would hate to think its impossible. Are there any suggestions for places to get loans while in school? Help! Any suggestions or advice is super helpful...Im currently going to be attending Los Angeles county college of nursing and would love to get any feedback for that program as well. Thanks!

Honestly, I only see this being possible in maybe some ADN programs. It would be physically impossible in my ABSN program. There are quite literally not enough hours in the day.

Anyway, I would recommend continuing to see how it works for you, OP. I WISH I could work, but my classes are 10 hours twice a week and clinicals are 3 times per week 6:30am-5:30pm. Weekends are for studying, because it's pretty hard doing it after clinical and class when my commute is an hour +.

No one mentioned it was easy, but you also don't know the circumstances of every single individual. You don't know their work circumstances, if they are allowed to study at work, or rearrange their schedule to fit into their day. You're labeling things as black and white, and it's not

You have a lot of people telling you it's not physically possible but you still want to argue that you will be that "one exception." Good luck with that

And you want to judge people as everything is black and white, one way one way only, never can be done ever. Even though there have been examples of it happening. So keep up the judgement

MAYBE in an ADN as people have said, although I still doubt that because ADN programs are very intense as well, but any other program you are in class or clinical from at least 8 am-4 or 5 pm every day. On top of that, you will have assignments/studying that amounts to at least 2-3 hours per day for the most efficient workers (and typically closer to full days of studying on the weekends). Tell me, when there are 24 hours in a day and you are spending around 11 or 12 of them on school alone (and that is the bare minimum) how you are going to also take care of a family, work full time, and sleep for at least an hour or two. There are not enough hours in the day unless you are a time traveler and not telling anyone.

You're right, you know every single program out there, and are up to date on their times, assignments etc. You also know everyone's schedule and are in tune with every single person that has every gone through a nursing program. Completely my fault, carry on

Actually there are a few final semester students (4 that I know of personally) working full time and have families at my school. So keep grasping at anything you can

I said it was not possible to do it WELL. I doubt they are studying as much as they need to to actually become the best nurses possible if they even pass the NCLEX. Even if they are getting good grades (doubtful), good grades do not make a good nurse, putting the time into truly understanding what you are learning and prioritizing patient care does.

A super quick glance at your other threads shows you are at a community college, aka ADN program, soooo clearly you didn't read anyone's comments that it would only be possible in an ADN program....
