I find it hard to believe that your friend's friend can't find a nursing job. I live in the bay area, and there are at least 50 openings in my hospital alone. Just look in the Sunday edition of the classifieds for San Francisco or San Jose, or any other northbay city & you will see a tons of ads from all the big hospitals. Nurseweek is chock full of job ads, too.

I dont think its the fact that there isnt a shortage...im not sure about down there...i know up here the dumbasses keep laying people off because of budget... GO ROMANOW REPORT!!!
I'm not familiar with the area, but if your friends' friend is in an area that is saturated with medical students, that could be the reason why. I've heard of that before, in certain other areas. The residents and students are all trying to work in their fields (or similar) and they are cheap labor compared to graduates.

Hey all!
I just talked to my friend on the phone who is home visiting his fam in San Jose. What he said perplexed me. He said his friend recently just got her BSN and is having a hard time finding a job. So much so, that she's applied at Starbuck's and Long's Drugs!! Can that be??? Man, he must not be telling me something right? I can't understand how she would be having any trouble. I mean Stanford is down there!
