Nursing Hopeful

:D Hello everyone. I'm new here. Nursing is something that I've wanted to do for a very long time. I tried a few years ago and the waiting list was for the ADN program at the community college was just too long (4-5) years. So anyways, I went ahead and got my associates of applied science in surgical technology and have enjoyed a rewarding career. My desire to become a RN never diminished. I recently moved from ohio to florida and have decided to try for the ADN again at the community college here. Great news for me ... there is actually a shortage of qualified nursing students and all of my credits from ohio transferred to my new college (A&P I,II, Micro, the usual stuff). I took the NLN pre-exam and thought it was very hard. I needed to score in the 50th percentile to be accepted into the nursing program and I scored in the 70th percentile. There were approximately 16 - 18 other nursing hopefuls and they only accept 12. So furthermore, I am fretting that my score was not high enough, especially after reading some of the posts about other people's high scores. Anyways, I am anxiously watching and waiting for the mailman everyday now and hoping to recieve an acceptance letter soon. Thank you for listening and I will keep you posted.

Hi Lisa and Welcome! I'm working on my pre-req's for my ADN. I'm fortunate that there are plenty of openings for nursing students. Good luck and I hope you get accepted!

Good luck Lisa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the PSB entrance exam on friday and now the wait begins for me too! It sounds like you did really well on your test! I hope I did. I won't know my scores for 2-3 weeks. Best of luck to you!

Good Luck Lisa!!! I'm still finishing up my pre-req's but then I'll have to take that test as well. Please keep us posted on your progress!
