I finally found out today that I passed the NCLEX. This has been the longest 8 days of my life waiting to find out. Thanks for all the encouragement! The weight has been lifted!!!

I still don't know if I passed or not and its friday afternoon at 4pm! I'm going crazy here. I'm supposed to start my job in the OR on Monday the 29th so I called Human resources and talked with them regarding my lack of results. The lady told me that she also had a handful of other graduates that she could not get results on. She said this may be a glitch with the NC board of Nursing and not to worry. Here is the thing though...I can still start on monday since I will be in a classroom setting for several weeks, I just will not be getting paid as an RN. That is very dissappointing to me...I know its only temporary until they can verify my licensure, but I worked my butt off to take this exam in time to have results by the time my Periop class starts and now here I sit. I hate that NC does not have the quick results feature with Pearson Vue! Oh well, I guess a feel alittle better now that I have vented. Thanks for listening. I'll keep you posted.

I'm still waiting to find out. I really thought I would know by now. I hope that is not a bad sign. I've called the automated number more times than I can count hoping to find out but still nothing. NC doesn't particpate in the quick results with pearson vue. Originally, I was under the impression that you would know within a few days.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I took the test this morning and finished with 75 questions in about 1 1/2hrs. Now the wait begins. It was difficult, but I feel okay about it. I had lots of prioritizing, 2 fill in the blank math questions and 2 select all that apply. The test was like no other that I have taken. I'll keep you posted on the results. Thanks again everybody!! It's a relief just to have gotten it over with...now maybe I can sleep! :chuckle

I'm taking the nclex tomorrow at 11:00am. I'm trying to figure out how to get some sleep between now and then! I'm pretty high strung right now. I've tried to take the day off from studying today and now I'm wondering if that was a smart idea or not. Please pray for me to think clearly tomorrow. I figure if I don't know it by now I never will. You could make yourself crazy studying for this thing. To all those in the same boat good luck on your exam! Thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Thanks for the responses! I was offered the position in the OR yesterday and I accepted! I'm so excited!! I graduate August 4th and the periop 101 class starts the last week of August. I can't believe I got this awesome opportunity. The interview process was very competitive. I interviewed in early Feb. and they just made offers to a handful of people yesterday. I'm so glad I'm in!

I have an interview scheduled with the OR this Thursday. I will be graduating in August. Any advice for those considering a career in the OR? Why did you chose the OR? Benefits/drawbacks? I keep having some lingering doubts about my desire to work there. I have been an Endoscopy Tech for the past few years and enjoy working as a team, and the technical aspects of the job. My concern is the lack of interaction with patients. I'm afraid I will miss that part of the job. I know I'm not cut out for med/surg nursing, and I like the idea of caring for one patient at the time. There are so many choices out there for nurses? How did you all decide where you wanted to be? How many of you were floor nurses prior to going to the OR? What do you like best about the OR? Least? Interview tips? Thanks in advance for your input! I know I asked a lot of questions, any advice would be appreciated. :)
