Hey Everyone,

I will be taking the NLN exam on March 20th. And I would like some feedback on this exam? I got the NLN RN entrance exam review book. Does this really help? I am extremely nervous. I would like to know how was the exam?

The NLN is very similar to the ACT. I didn't think it was very hard, but I wouldn't go into it without at least reviewing the study guide and doing some questions just to get the brain warmed up. This is good especially if you haven't been in school for a while. Good luck!

any other feedback on this exam?

For me, the science portion was the most difficult. Lots of physics & chemistry. The math was pretty much Algebra/Pre-Calc stuff, so it wasn't too bad. The Reading portion basically focuses on vocabulary. However, I didn't study at all and scored in the 92nd percentile, so I guess it just depends on the person. Also, the time flies by so make sure you keep a steady pace or else you won't be able to answer all the questions.

NLN is similar to other comprehensive exams such SAT, ACT, GRE, etc, in that it seeks to evaluate one's overall knowledge of particular subjects. What all these exams have in common is they look to measure one's ability for certian future college or graduate school course work, by basically taking the sum of what one knows or should know from previous education.

There really isn't *that* much to be nervous about. Go though any good review book and make sure you know or understand the material likely to be covered on the exam. That being said, if you never took certian courses it would be wise to at least try to learn some basics, and for the math part have a decent grip on math up to algerbra level.

Do the best you can, am sure you will be fine!

Best of luck!

Thanks for the help. I got the NLN review guide RN- Pre Entrance Exam. Hopefully that helps.

My NLN test was nothing like a SAT or ACT, it was strangely similar to your nursing boards. In fact that is what our school told us to study with. We took the Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exam (ACE) 1: PN to RN exam. So make sure you have the right one. I started out studying out the the book you mentioned also, but had to switch!

NO i actually am taking the NLN exam.. well the pax entrance exam. They recommended this book in their website...

I'll be taking this the NLN-PAX in March as well. Just around the corner! The physics and chem make me nervous since it's been 10 years since I took chem, and I've never taken physics. Eek! The review guide and youtube are my best friends right now.....

oh ok, well good luck to you guys!!! lets see how it goes when i take this exam

In my opinion, the NLN is WAY easier than the ACT. I think you should relax. I didn't get the book and I ended up making a 90 something on the NLN.
