Can a nurse initiate IV therapy on their own once they assesed that the patient is starting to undergo shock due to hemorrhagic fever ? or should we wait for doctors order before doing so?

I responded to your post with your care plan. Now that I know where you are from, I can add some more to it.
Are you in Manila or on one of the other islands? That would also make a change in what you would be doing.
For things that deal with diseases that are not normally seen in the US, you will get a better response by posting it in the International Forum. Especially diseases that I am used to seeing...........:) I am always around the International Forum, as well as NCLEX, but don't always get the time to view this one.

For careplans I always write "as ordered" after things that you need an order for... Like: initiate IV as ordered, give meds as ordered
Please be aware that the op is following a completely different set of standards, as he is in another country.
