How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Hello my name is Chantee, I am 24, a mom of two. My daughter is 4 (almost 5) and my son is 7 weeks. My husband is a police officer and is away from home about half of the week. I will be starting my first semester in January. Which is bringing mixed emotions...fear, excitement, anxiety and happiness.

Hey.

Fear and anxiety. Go with those feelings. Get some tutors and good babysitters. AND DO NOT GIVE UP.

Hi everyone. I am a 37 year old mom of a 12 year old boy and a 4 year old girl. I have three more pre-reqs to finish, and I get more and more nervous about not getting into nursing school every day. They are very competitive where I live!!! I am happy to be here and hope to get/give support to/from others.

Hi everyone- my name is Fiona and I am married with 2 children, 1 yr old girl and an almost 3 yr old boy. Found out yesterday that I was accepted to the accelerated BSN program that starts in June. Should I really be kissing my children and husband goodbye for 13 months?

Yes. Good Luck...........You will be glad you did it in the end.

Hello,

I am FantasyNurse04. I have been an ICU Nurse for almost 3 years. I am 33, have a Saint for a wife, and 2 children (8 year old boy and 3 year old daughter). I have my interview for CRNA school tomorrow AM. I applied last year but had no luck. This year I'm not counting on any luck. Just faith.

Thanks,

Me

Hi everyone!

My name is Howie. I'm a 23 year old Junior Nursing Student. Iv'e had several "Speed Bumps" in my college career, as a result of my military service, but, there are no regrets.....just looking forward to getting more nursing experience with each clinical experience.....and, progressing with my education. Time in Afghanistan and Louisiana, shortly after Katrina, only reinforced my decision to pursue nursing.

It's great to be apart of this forum! Iv'e found it to be an incredible resource....

Anyone else find it just a little addicting, though? lol

Hi Margaret and congratulations! I've learned "You're never too old"

I'm 49 and had no prior hospital experience (as a patient or staff). After my final exam on Monday I'll have 1 semester left for my ADN! It's been the toughest thing I've ever done but worth it..........

remember your home/personal life will be on "hold" for a while, but those who truly support you will understand and help you.

Welcome to all the students :) I can't remember if I did an intro or not, lol. So forgive me if it's a repeat.

I'm Nurseintraining77 (aka Naima). I'm a 29 yr old wife and mum. I'll be starting nursing as a 2nd degree student. My first bachelor is in psychology so I'm sure I'll be able to use many of those skills. I'll be attending Alverno College starting in Janurary so time is really winding down.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions/comments as school gets rolling. For now I'm just enjoying the free time I have, lol.

26, mother of two, finishing my first term for LPN program on tommorrow. Happy Holidays Everyone

34..nearly 35 and starting classes next month. I've been working in the non-profit/community services industry for about 7 years and I've decided to make a career change. I'm excited, yet nervous. I already have a BA so for the next two years I'll be working away on my associates.
