Has anyone ever had an intramuscluar injection gone wrong and hit a scatic nerve?

Sorry, no....I've only given them in the deltoid, so haven't gone there so far....but, I did hit BONE while doing flu shots....we were given the syringes we had to use in a flu shot clinic and never having done many IMs before, I didn't think too much about it when this really thin, older woman came for her shot....that was THE strangest, and most unexpected, thing in the world....THUD!! I hope never to do that again....
Thanks, that is really reassuring, turns out that I am not the only one who as something go wrong although I was relieved to find out that Idid not damage the sciatic nerve when I did my injection!!

I have given IM injections in the deltoid, gluteus maximus, and vastus lateralis. I have never struck the sciatic nerve.

I had my sciatic nerve hit by a Urgent care nurse with phenergan.
It hurt for a very, very long time, and a part of my side cheek/thigh was numb for at least a year.
