If you ever failed a nursing exam, but came back and did good on the other exam, eventually passing the class.

Please post here, to inspire others like myself, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes, I have and it felt awful. I thought I had done well and ugh, seeing the posted grade right there. After sulking, I dusted myself off and went back to the books. I looked through my notes to see the questions from the exam and they didn't jump out at me. I had scanned over them, trying to memorize it all. That doesn't work.

Ask yourself what the pt needs and why. Go from there. Explore the A&P of it and then think through all the systems involved. All I can recommend is to hang tough and see your way to another exam. Do your assignments early so that the guilt and procrastination don't drag you down. Find one thing that brings you happiness and schedule one hour a week to do that. Then... Nursing school won't seem like a life sentence. :lol2:

Yes I am just trying to get over the feeling from my assessment test today. I thought I knew the material, but the manner in which the questions was worded had me triple questioning myself!

Don't let it get you down too bad. I failed my Foundations lab test by two questions on Monday, but I brushed it off and moved on. I just took it as a lesson learned and studied harder. I think it's paying off because I got a B yesterday on a test and another one on today's test. I know it may seem like the end of the world, but just remember that tomorrow is another day. Good luck to you!!

OOhh Yes, I failed my cardiac/respiratory nursing mid-term with a 70 (passing is a 73) and I thought the world was going to end!! I was crying thinking i was going to fail out of nursing school.. but I made an appointment with the teacher and she helped me through it, she held a study session before the final and it really helped alot.. I also couldnt of done it without my friends that I met at school... no one wants to see anyone fail so they made sure I was on top of my game.. remember you are never in this alone, do not be ashamed to ask for help when you need it!! All in all I ended up gettin an A on the final and getting a final grade of a B!! Keep your head up, keep up the studying.. you can do anything you want if you set your mind to it.. good luck on you next exam!!

Ah.. brings back memories. My FIRST exam of nursing school, which happened to be a Fundamentals exam, was horrid. I ended up with a 60% and the passing is 75%. I cried for a good 30 minutes, picked myself up and moved on. I ended up getting A's on every subsequent exam in that class. It is amazing how much fear pushes one to study! :)

Thank you all so much for your responses. I need to hear that:)

Yes last term I failed the first fundamentals test really bad. I told all my friends and family that I didn't think I would be able to bring my grade up. There was so much pressure on me to do good on the next test and I was so stressed. So I studied and did good on the next test and it brought my avg up a lot. So don't give up. Also do all your homework because those extra points really help.

Hello, well I am in my 4th semester of the RN program and I just made a 74 on my first test of the semester. It was Mental Health and I studied my butt off for that test. It was just the way it was worded I guess that messed me up. I was really upset but I am going to have buckle down and focus on the next ones.. I have made it this far and I am not about to let this test get me.. Well thats my rant.. Everyone can do it..I dont think one or two bad tests says you cant be a great nurse. I just keep telling myself that.. Good Luck
