well i don't know if this will help but this is all i can think of. get a tape recorder which is portable. while you are reading (or write your notes and record them on the tape) that way when you are traveling you can listen to them on your way. make flash cards so that you can study on your breaks from work. easier to carry around a stack of index cards then a stack of books.

wake up every morning and tell yourself that you can do this. you are strong enough to make it through both work and school. let some of the househould cleaning wait. some things can just be put off until you have more time.

hope this helps good luck with your studies.

    you always have support here.

    good luck

There may be cultural differences that may be making things more difficult for you.
The meaning/concept of nursing, being a nurse, the value/respect of nursing may be different in different countries. Does this impact you in some way?
You mention you need to be yourself again. In what way do you mean?
Akcarmean gave you some tips. What have you tried? What has worked best for you and what has not worked?...we all learn differently.
Anyway, I wish you the best in your studies.
Welcome to our family...allnurses! Look forward to seeing you around!

hang in there, nursing school is hard. We have all had hard times in school. Even I did, and I made it through, and now I love what I do and would not change anything. Tell your self everyday you can do this. Form study groups with others in school and study together on tough subjects. Youll make it, I have faith in you, as well as everyone else here. Keep it up, you wont for one day regret it in the end.

Oh man, I was just in this very same state last semester. Don't worry, you'll get through this. Someone suggested taping the lectures. THat helps a lot when you're studying (I was lucky to have a videotape of the lecture). First thing I would do is make a schedule. This is what I did, my friends thought I was a lunatic because I had my entire life down to seconds of what I would be doing. WHen you do that, you realize how much time you truly have. Put in the work time, the school time, sleep, eating, and then review what time you have left. Cut out anything distracting. (this is hard if you are married and have a family). If there's still too little time, consider working less or dropping one class. You must remember that health is the most important thing you have and not to lose sleep over this. Studying in groups also is a great help. Good luck to you. :wink2: :wink2:
