The school I've been taking my prereqs at has now adopted the HESI entrance exam as an indicator of nursing school eligibility. The particular version used by this college includes Anatomy & Physiology. Has anyone out there taken this test? If so, what did you think of it? This is my dilemma: My last A&P class was around 3-4 years ago and I'm concerned about my retention. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi Kim,

I took the HESI entrance exam in February and I was only halfway through A&P II. A good starting point is to look at the study guide that's put out by the company that creates the HESI. Our school library had copies for use or you can order it directly from the company for $30 (I think). There were actually a couple of questions straight from the guide. I also used Anatomy and Physiology Made Incredibly Easy and that helped alot for review. Good luck.

Thanks for the information!

Hi, Just wantd to know if you took your HESI yet? I took mine Monday and it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I did study quite a bit. We did not take the A & P part this time, but i know they use too. What I was told that anything they ask will be in the study guide. Nothing to extreme. One question was, "What are the arteries that supply blood to the heart?" Good Luck and you will do fine! I'm 34 years old and have 5 kids. I made a 98 on the Reading, the Math section I made a 96 and Grammar I made a 89. Don't read too much in to the questions. Just answer what they are asking you. I love to read too much in to things. Like looking for the hidden meaning. You dont have to do that. I remember the first question in math was 2 + 10+ 11+12+13. something like that. Very simple. Know your household measurements. ounces, cups, pints, quarts, gallons. Know how to convert pounds to kilograms and vice versa. If you have any more questions, let me know. Like i said, I just wasn't sure if you had taken it yet or not. I know I was going crazy looking wherever I could for some glimpse of what to expect. Let me know.

I take mine on the 11th. You go to HCC, no? I'm in the MT 9-12 class. You?

I'm in T/W 1:00 - 3:30. I take the HESI the morning of the 12th, then an hour later, I take the Math Exam! No pressure here! Good luck to you.
