Well, this is completely unexpected folks! Earlier this week, the head of the program came to class to mention that nominations for class pres, vp, sec, etc. will be taken over the next 2 weeks...mainly for next year....While I was gone with another classmate getting the lunch order for our community health group, I guess everyone else talked about nominating me for class president.....then they asked me as soon as I walked back in the door! Of course, I happily said I'd be honored to accept the nomination and 3 of them now want to be my campaign managers...I'm thinking of asking one of the 2 from my clinical group if they'd mind me nominated for VP. In case I win, I want someone there who I trust and like as VP....also if I don't I want someone who'd do a good job.

I'm just a little suprised that classmates see me that way. I'm always around to help, but I figure that's just part of being a good student. A nurse has to have a good attitude and we are all in the same boat, so if I ask a question I'd hope someone would answer it for me, just as vice versa....

Just had to share this with folks that would understand.....

Congrats on the presidential nod.... a word of advice from someone who was elected class president his senior year: if your duties are anything like mine (planning pinning, reception, fundraisers, etc) you'll be swamped on top of your class load. Make sure you can handle the stress, and DELEGATE to your classmates. It's the only thing that kept me sane......Best of luck!!

Steve, I hear ya. I probably shouldn't be planning as if I'm going to win, but I'd like to have some plans down in case someone asks me "what are your plans in terms of pinning/fundraisers/receptions/etc....?" I'd like to be able to answer them to the best of my ability.

I already know my strengths are dealing with people, asking for things, etc...not exactly fundraising, but certainly dealing with higher ups, etc...I feel I can communicate well with people.

Here's crossing my fingers and seeing where this takes me!
