Jan 4, '08Question about 2nd semester:
How many weeks of clinicals (12-hr clinicals) are there? Do we start them the first week? Just seems like double the hours than what we had first semester.
Jan 4, '08You have 4 weeks of Pedi, 2 of which aren't in the hospital, 4 weeks of L & D, and 4 weeks of Med-Surg - Most of the clinical groups went right up until the week before finals because there were down weeks inbetween...
Jan 4, '08What she said. But, there was one clinical instructor who doubled up, so her class finished early.
And no, they didn't start right away. It was a couple of weeks into it before they started, but I can't remember how many right now. After the pedi seminar!
Have fun and good luck!
Jan 4, '08I was also wondering about that......thanks Yang and JaxiaLast edit by cupid09 on Jan 4, '08 : Reason: add a thank you
Jan 5, '08NO Yang, I won't know until the 10th.
I have just decided to be HAPPY and excited about the year no matter what happens.
ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING.
I had jutte and we finished our clinicals 3 weeks before the semester was over. We had orientation at the hospital the first week of school along with the peds seminar---that first week was a hectic week.
Just a few more days of relaxation---everyone enjoy!
Jan 5, '08Attitude is everything, and right now, I have a BAD attitude about them not letting you know yet!
I hope you do get back in!!!!!!
Jan 11, '08Hi, I got accepted in the late applications and start Monday. We got a quickie orientation so my brain is overloaded. I need to quickly prepare mentally and I'm just nervous because this is all so quick. Thanks,N.J.Last edit by EricJRN on Oct 3, '08 : Reason: TOS - names
Jan 12, '08So, for the last several months or so, I've been experiencing significant abdominal pain pretty much every time I try to eat anything. Over the Christmas holiday, I went to the doctor to have some testing done and I finally got the results.
I'm allergic to Blueberries, Lemons, Corn, Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Cashews, Dairy products (including cow's milk, yogurt, cheddar cheese, cottage cheese and swiss cheese), Eggs (Whites and yolks), Brewer's yeast, Black pepper, Gluten, Safflower, Soybeans, and Wheat.
I'm sensitive to Asparagus, Lima beans, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Eggplant, Ginger, Grapes, Lamb, Malt, Oat, Peas, Peanuts, Chili Pepper, Potatoes, Rye, and Sesame.
Right now, I feel pretty overwhelmed. I know it isn't the end of the world, but so many of my favorite things to eat are on that list! I'm trying to look at this as the chance to have new culinary adventures ... but it doesn't always work. However, I am looking forward to feeling better after I manage to make all these diet modifications!
Jan 12, '08oh Jaxia---I am sorry to hear that you have so many allergies. I would love to be allergic to some foods, then maybe my ass wouldn't be so big! OK< maybe that wasn't an appropriate or therapeutic response, but I was just trying to get you to smile!
I'm sure you are relieved that they were able to find the source of your ABD pain-I know you will stay positive and make the most of it.
will a few spoonfuls of things cause you pain or will you still be able to enjoy a couple of bites??
Jan 12, '08Jaxia, so sorry. I'm scared to go get tested for allergies as well. (Scared of having a huge list like that!)
:chuckle Spill....too funny. I know my rear end has grown 10 X as big since I started back to school!
Jan 12, '08Jaxia -
How are we even gonna eat lunch now? lol ... hang in there...you can get through it and feel so much better! We just have to find new places/things to eat...
