congratulations! to everyone that is starting in january!
i'm so excited to meet everyone-please introduce yourself!
:groupwelcome:
I have an appt. with Al T. on Friday. I also talked to my psych. professor from last semester and he said to see how the semester goes and then decide if I want to continue or pursue something else so that's what I am going to do.
When you start going to your hospital you will probably have a chance to see what other people do there, like physical therapists, radiology techs, maybe scrub techs. So you compare nursing to their job and decide if you want to continue with nursing. Good luck.

Amy isn't going anywhere I won't let her! (just to let you guys know) She's my nursing buddy. Amy, you are going to make an excellent nurse.
I'm sure I just broke every rule of communication--which is what we learned about today, but I'm still learning-so HA
PS. Jaxia--keep those pom poms handy I have ck off tommorrow!
lol Spill....good luck!!!!
I'm glad you both got to practice with Iris. I really enjoyed her way of teaching.
(We had her show a group of us how to do the catheterization...just to get some things clear. It was hilarious. She went into having to sit there and wait d/t the male patient getting an....well, it may not be PG to say it even though it is medical.
It was funny how she explains things. :)
Did y'all both get to practice by listening to her B/P?
Who's this Iris lady and how do we get her at ECC?? lol. Amy, it always seems the first tests are the hardest. Now that you know what to expect, the next one should be better. I'm trying to catch up on all my reading and studying today because our test is next week! Take care everyone...

ok, I failed my first ck off---I couldn't find the radial pulse! I feel so embarrassed! I'm disappointed, and I know it's not the end, but I just feel really embarrassed. I mean, how hard is that!!!!
I'll be ok, but, just wanted to let you all know how it went.
I believe Iris goes back and forth to each campus. Iris is the reason why I did really well on my BP. She really does give you good tips! I had the exact number as my instructor. Shout out to IRIS!
Spill,
I am really sorry about your check off. I know exactly how you feel. I agree, Iris is wonderful. When you were practicing radial pulse on me yesterday it seemed that your fingernails were in the way. Do you think that might have had a factor in you not feeling it during checkoff ?

Thanks Jaxia and Yang for trying to cheer me up. I was SO anxious yesterday and couldn't focus on studying much. I didn't sleep well either. I *THINK* I passed the test...I got a 74 but really wasn't suprised due to yesterday's events. I have an appt. with Al T. on Friday. I also talked to my psych. professor from last semester and he said to see how the semester goes and then decide if I want to continue or pursue something else so that's what I am going to do. I didn't do so well on the test and it could have been alot worse and I feel better now. The people in my class that did well used the P&P study guide so I am going to start using it. I *think* I might get a chance to re-do vitals tomorrow and I will if I can since Spill and I practiced for an hour or so this afternoon with Iris. I wish Iris was our clinical instructor - she really knows her stuff and seems to like teaching better than the instructors do.
