congratulations! to everyone that is starting in january!
i'm so excited to meet everyone-please introduce yourself!
:groupwelcome:
What.....did you see me or something!?!?!??! STD talk leads to one LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG lecture!
Our class starts at 9AM, but I wanted to get there really early d/t a 'seating list'. I got there 15 min till 0900 d/t a train keeping me stuck at a light for 20 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRR!
Anyway...my classmates were nice enough to save a seat for me by the wall so I can plug in my computer. How sweet was that!?!?!?!
Well, my checkoff was a bust...Let's just say that the CI does not listen with her ears...grrr...frankly, I think she has a thing about anybody that has a medical background at all. Those are the ones that didn't pass in our class. I think she feels the need to try to establish her authority. I'm repeating it, and I requested a video of it. I'm just breathing deeply and gonna get past it and not let her get to me too much.
Hope everyone else's went well!
Yang

I am sure you are going to do it fine next time. Is there anyone from other semesters who can tell you something about this instructor? There must be a way to handle your instructor.
Katie
Sorry, Yang.
I didn't pass my first one either last semester, as I told y'all before.
I cried, but then I was determined that was not going to keep me from my goal!!!!!
I spoke with a guy that I had in my English class who was in 2nd semester at the time. He told me that he had to repeat some too.
His words were soooooo helpful to my busted ego!
Practice more, then get it next time! :pumpiron:
Yang....I know how you feel. I failed too - my #'s were too far off from hers on apical and radial pulses. I was SO nervous. I am seriously considering changing my major. Today is not the 1st time I have had this feeling - that's what scares me. We have lecture test #1 tomorrow and I can't even concentrate enough to study! I will see how test #1 goes and then probably talk to Al T @ ECC.

Amy, take some deep breath. You have 3 chances to pass check offs. And you can do great on the lecture test. You studied a lot and you are going to be fine. Be positive tomorrow. Talking to Al is a good idea, too. Good luck.
Katie
Edit: By the way, I think the hardest skill check off is the first one. Because you have to have your numbers pretty close to your instructor's numbers.

My ck off is on Thursday, so I've really been focusing my studying on lecture test, which is tommorrow. I will spend some time practicing today for ck offs.
