Don't forget to take care of yourself too!!!

Published

I just wanted to remind everyone to take the time to do something for yourself once in awhile! It's been sometime since I have done an "only me" thing, and my stress level was beginning to show it.

Today, I went and had my hair done. I know, a small endeavor, but I feel great! I had a trim, a new style, and highlights put in. It was great to get out without children or husband or school books and just have something for me...

So don't forget, when you feel about to burst from all that is expected of you, GET OUT AND GO DO SOMETHING JUST FOR YOU!!!!

May the good Lord above bless us all!

That's so true. I have half an hour each week to take horseback riding lessons. It's just the horse, the trainer and ME. Now and then, I even manage to sneak into the bathroom for a bubble bath.

Finding time for yourself is a wonderful way to relieve the stress.

I knew there was something I was missing!!!!!! lol

I've started taking cake decorating classes one day a week. It's something I've always wanted to do and it's nice to be able to forget about homework, errands, laundry and my job for that little bit of time. Also, since I've started going back to school, I've been treating myself to salon haircuts instead of just going to Procuts. It's kind of silly, but it's nice to feel pampered once in a while!

I think that you have stress-management down pretty good. I try to do things for myself in order to help relieve stress from nursing school. The only problem is, is that I feel like I don't have any time to study for nursing, let alone take time way for myself to relieve stress. I have gotten better at making myself make time so I don't go crazy over all the pressure and stress I feel. One thing I do is Martial Arts. I try to go 3 times a week because it's fun and allows me to get out my frustrations. Every nursing student (or any student) should make time for themselves in order to relieve their stress.

Although we have a big obligation with reading several chapters a week and a lot of studying to do; seems like there is not enough time in the day to finish everything so I will take time out to take a nice hot bath every night before I retire to bed and I will light some candles for aroma therapy and then put on some jazz music (my favorite) and then relax in the tub; that is my way of taking a break. Sometimes I may indulge in a nice hot totty or something to that extent depending on my obligations the next day or morning. Every now and then I may treat myself to a nice manicure and pedicure.....I have not built up enough confidence to get a body massage as yet due to the horrible shape of my body ( will work on it soon).
