Discrepency between national tests and quoted pass rates

We recently got our test results from a national test taken by nursing students all over the country at the midway point in their programs. My school ranked 50th in physiological and 68th in psychosocial. I called the school office and asked about pass rates, they said our school was ranked in the top 10% for passing boards. Besides that quote, where else can I find that information? I've looked on the internet and can't find anywhere. The board of nursing just says it is accredited. How can I verify pass rates? I work hard and start my last semester next fall but I'm disappointed even though I did better than the class averages.

I was speaking of percentages not numeric ranking. We scored in the 50% in physiologic and 68% in psychosocial. Sorry

I know in California you can go to the State Board of Nursing website and see the pass rates for the last several yrs. on the NCLEX for every single program in the state....

The state board should be able to verify pass rates for you. If it isn't on the website just call them.

I don't know if you can look at those numbers and call it a discrepancy though, they are measuring different things. The percentile on the test is a National average and your school probably quoted you State numbers since that's how the NCLEX and licensure works.

Also, you don't know how much better those other schools above you did on that standardized test. We take the ERI every semester and passing this time was only a 47%. I got the highest grade in my class, a 77. So I was in the 100th percentile but I wouldn't say I did well on the test.

Thanks, I'll call my state board. Thanks for the reassurrance Kimtab. They probably can't be compared but it still spooked me.
