Hi all! I am starting the nursing program at Coppin:nurse: in the fall and wanted to know if there are any other students out there starting in the fall or are in the program as we speak. Those who are starting in the fall congrats:yeah:. Those who are in the program already, any advice? Please share all of your experiences and :twocents: if possible to help us newbies! Oh and congratulations to all the students who graduated :yeah: and good luck on the NYCLEX. Thanks!

You might find more of a response if you post on the Maryland Nurses board (Region > United States > Maryland Nurses, on the bar @ the top). I just graduated from Towson University and could tell you about clinical sites in the area if they overlap with where I was placed during NS. Good luck!

Thank you! I would love to hear about your experiences and will appreciate all the advice . I didnt know that there was a Maryland nursing link. Thanks! I wish I could just move this thread!:p I duplicated this thread on the Maryland link. Thanks!

By the way CONGRATULATIONS! :yeah:

Dulce-- WHat did you think of Towson? I'm starting Stevenson in the fall, but wouldn't RO later transferring there due to the $$$ of my school. What are they doing to address their NCLEX scores?

Apparently they're adding a 2nd med/surg and doing away with leadership, starting with incoming juniors. I felt like the program prepared me, but some of my peers got away with doing very little and getting away with it. Some instructors did have their favorites.

I think a moderator might be able to move this over?

Did you have to work harder than others. Is it still a good program as far as being able to ask instructors questions and getting all the help you needed or did you feel more like you were on your own. I am asking cause Towson was my second choice and a friend of mine is considering it for spring 2010.

I feel it was a decent program but that there is alot you have to teach yourself at times and you do have to ask instructors for help if you're not getting something. Most of the instructors are supportive and there were a few that were really awesome.

Thanks! I would like to hear about your experiences whenever you have time. The ups and downs.

Hey I'm also applying to Towson for Spring 2010. I have a 3.27 GPA in the pre-reqs that they require. But from what I hear Towson is pretty competitive. I'm not very confident about getting in.

How do you like the program at Coppin so far? I applied there for Fall 2009 but I didn't get in b/c I failed the NET. I got a 67 in Reading both times I took it. Looking to re-apply but I wish it were a two year program. Any input/advice about Coppin would be great!
