i was wondering if using the a&p that i used in college is better than using the a&p book that the lpn school wants me to use. my a&p book is about 1 year old and it covered i&ii this book is smaller. does it really matter what a&p book i use dont they all have the same material? plus i would be saving $$$ buy using the one i have at home.

Hi Born,

I am just getting ready to finish A&PII and this semester we had a lot of students from other campuses (it's a large Community College with 4 different sites). Anyway, a number of them took A&P I at other campuses where they used a different A&P book.

As far as I know most of them didn't have any problems having a different book. They would just read up on whatever our teacher covered in class and if on our exam the teacher used a diagram from the book he would make copies of it and pass out to the students in advance so they could study from it.

I guess it would really depend on your teacher because for my A&P I there is no way anyone could have made it through without having the correct book. My A&P I prof. quized and examed us on every single thing in the book whereas my A&P II prof. just gave an over view.

You might want to go to class first and see how the teacher lectures and gives exams and then if you think you'll definately need the book get it at that time.

Good Luck with A&P!!!

A&P is A&P it does not matter if you are readiing from a colouring book or Gray's anatomy. The only difference is the depth at which it is taught and presented. I am sure if you suppliment whatever book you have with a little research either form the library or the more respectable sites on the web you will be fine.

After reading Gweniths post about respectable websites I wanted to add that a lot of publishing companies now have interactive websites where you can go and get an outline of chapters from a particular book, self quiz and copy diagrams from the book, etc.

I know the website for my A&P Book (mhhe.com) was wonderful in helping me study, etc. You might do fine to just go to the website of the publisher of the book your instructor is using.

Good Luck,

Col
