A & P was one of my favorite classes! You really have to figure out your learning style. For me flash cards work well. For memorizing things such as the bones and muscles I got a picture of a skeleton, put it into a sheet protector and used a dry erase marker to write them over and over again.
Go through the power point and highlight the important things. Read the chapters but focus on what is on the slides.
Good luck!
Quizlet is good for memorizing the anatomy and going over the terms and such. (Or, if you do it a certain way, making a quizlet essentially becomes the studying because it's all about summarizing and connecting information.) Youtube is good for understanding the material and learning it so it's not just memorization. Practice questions would probably help. I'm sure there are podcasts or something out there as well.
I will say though that you'll need to try to develop an ability to teach yourself even when the professor isn't amazing or helpful. With nursing programs, you may just have a class in which you pretty much have to self-teach either because there isn't an actual lecture or because the lecture isn't super helpful.
Wow if the professor is advising you not to get the text they're taking away the opportunity to even teach yourself.
I got an A in the full sequence of AnP. I went to lecture, read the full chapters assigned, and went to office hours when I didn't get something. I immersed myself in learning this material, not just passing the tests. You gotta figure out your best learning method though.
If you had a difficult time learning AP and are retaking, I'd highly recommend you take each Science class individually if at all possible. You really have to buckle down and basically dedicate yourself to these courses. They're no joke. I know some people might be on time-constraints, thus the reason they try to group as many classes as they can and take them all at once.
If you can spread them out, you'll be way better off.
Also, even if a text is not required, get a general Anatomy book anyway. You really just have to look up some things and see them in a book rather than just googling all the time.

Hello everyone!! So I took Anatomy and Physiology last semester and I ended up withdrawing from the class because I was having a hard time learning the material because the professor was reading off the slides. So I'm planning on retaking it next semester Spring 2019 with a new professor of course, and if anyone has any good tips on how to pass with an A please let me know! (Nursing program at my university is soooooo competitive) I'll also be taking Microbiology and 3 other classes.
