I want everyone's opinion on what I should do with my current situation. Once I graduated nursing school I got a job at a subacute rehab facility and have been here for 5 months. The experience has been invaluable and staff has been awesome. I have learned so much and it honestly is kind of like a hospital, I am doing the same types of stuff, dealing with trach patients, LVAD and kidney transplants, foleys, TPN, cardiac drips, wound care, IVs, everything! But I am looking to get into a hospital facility. I am going to an open house for a hospital tomorrow and we will see what the end result will be. But lets say they end up offering me a position a few weeks later.. Im conflicted on whether or not to take it.

The subacute rehab I work at now is in central NJ and about half hour away from my house and pays $30/hr, no shift differential but lots of overtime because I am stuck there a few hours past my time alot of the days and I work 5 days a week day shift full time. Now the hospital is in South Jersey and is an hr away from my house, the pay is $26 plus $5 shift differential and full time 3 days a week.. Which would be the smartest route to go? The subacute rehab I basically live there all the time, with 2 days off and dont spend a crazy amount on gas.. and the hospital I would work 3 days a week 12hr shifts and spend more money on gas. Which would you think would be a smarter route to go? Im really conflicted but it seems like in the grand scheme of things.. I would kind of be making the same rate but just the days off which is the only real difference I see here.

Thanks so muchhhhh!
